At Tranquil Birth and Bodywork, I believe in harnessing the power of sound to create a calm, grounded, and empowering birthing experience. That’s why I’ve designed a unique add-on service that integrates sacral and root singing bowls, breathwork, and Koshi chimes into your home laboring process.
Sound Healing in Labor: Why It Matters
Sound has been used for centuries to promote relaxation, focus, and emotional balance. During labor, when the body and mind are navigating intense changes, soothing vibrations can help create a sense of safety and ease.
Root and Sacral Singing Bowls: The deep, resonant tones of the root bowl provide a sense of grounding and stability, while the sacral bowl encourages emotional flow and relaxation; both crucial elements in the labor journey.
Breathwork: Conscious breathing enhances relaxation, reduces tension, and helps the body work with contractions rather than against them.
Koshi Chimes: These delicate, ethereal chimes add a layer of lightness and tranquility, helping shift focus from discomfort to a peaceful rhythm.
How This Service Works
I offer this sound healing service in two ways:
1. In-Person Early Labor Support
During early labor, I use the root and sacral singing bowls in person to create a deeply grounding and relaxing environment. This helps set the tone for labor and supports the birthing person’s ability to surrender to the process in addition to my birth doula support.
2. Pre-Recorded Sound Sessions for Active Labor
For those transitioning to a hospital setting, I provide general pre-recorded sound sessions incorporating singing bowls and Koshi chimes. These tracks are designed to be played during active labor (in addition to my birth doula expertise), offering a sense of continuity and comfort even in a hospital setting.
A Tool for an Empowered Birth
Every birth is unique, but a common thread is the need for peace, strength, and trust in the process. By integrating sound healing into labor, we create a space where fear is quieted, the body feels safe, and the mind stays present.
